What the two hours are

Twenty minutes of nothing, first

You arrive, you are given tea, and nobody speaks to you for twenty minutes. It sounds like a gimmick and it is the reason people sleep on the couch.

Then the treatment, then half an hour where the room is yours and the door stays shut. You leave when you are ready rather than when the hour is up.

There is no package and no course

Nobody will ring you afterwards, nobody will suggest a course of six, and there is nothing to buy at the desk except the oil, at what it costs us.

Four rooms, two of us, and a book that only goes eight weeks out — that is the whole business and it is not going to grow.

Before you come

Booking
By phone, eight weeks ahead at most. We do not use an app and the book is a book, on the desk, in pencil.
If you are late
We keep the end time. Twenty minutes late means twenty minutes less, because the person after you booked two hours as well.
Cancelling
Two days' notice and it costs nothing. Inside that it is half, and on the day it is all of it — four rooms cannot absorb an empty afternoon.
Pregnancy and illness
Tell us when you book, not when you arrive. There are things we will not do in the first twelve weeks and we would rather say so on the telephone.
Talking
Optional, in both directions. Say at the start that you would rather not and nobody will take it personally.
Phones
In the basket by the door, on silent. This is the only rule we are strict about and it is the one people thank us for.
