About me

I became a photographer the summer my son learned to walk

For eleven years I have photographed families in the hour before sunset, when the light is low and everybody has stopped trying to look nice. I take one session a day, so I am never in a hurry, and I print every gallery myself.

Every session ends with a gallery of around sixty finished photographs and one hand-made print. Prices include travel within twenty miles.

Kind words

Voices of our families

Two parents holding four laughing children together on a grassy dune.

The Adeyemi family(01)

"Four children under seven, and Maya made it feel like a picnic. The print of all of us on the dune is above our fireplace."

Before your session

Three things that make the evening easy

  1. Wear what you love

Soft colours, no big logos, and shoes you can walk through grass in. Matching is not needed; getting along is.

  2. Arrive fed

Hungry children do not smile. Bring a snack anyway; some of the best photographs are of somebody eating a banana.

  3. If it rains

We move to the next good evening at no cost. Or, if you are brave, we go out anyway with umbrellas.
