Your spare pennies, saved in a club you own

A savings club for people aged 16 to 25. Every card payment is rounded up to the next pound and the change goes in your pot. Members own the club, members vote, and nobody sells you anything.

See how it works

Pennies, not plans

No budget to set, no target to hit. A £2.40 coffee puts 60p in the pot and you never notice it went.

£148

a year, on average

What a member saves from round-ups alone, before anyone has put in a single extra pound.

Take it out any day

It is your money. Move it to your account in one tap, any time, and nobody asks why.

1 member, 1 vote

Owned by you

Every member gets a vote at the meeting in May, whether they have £3 saved or £3,000.

A share, not a rate

Once a year the club shares out what it earned. Last year that was 3.1% on every pound saved.

£1

to join, once

That pound is your share in the club. You get it back when you leave.

When the laptop dies in exam week, the club lends you the money

Members who have saved for three months can borrow up to £600 at a fixed 9.9% a year — the cost written in pounds before you say yes. No credit score games, no fees for paying back early.

The loan rules

How it works, in four steps

Day one

Join for £1

Ten minutes on your phone with a photo of your ID. Under 18? A parent signs too, and that is all they see.

Every payment

Round up

Link your bank card. Each payment is rounded to the next pound and the change moves into your pot that night.

Whenever you like

Top it up

Add a fiver from a birthday card, or set a weekly amount. Or don't; round-ups alone add up.

Every May

The share-out and the vote

The club pays out what it earned, and members vote on next year: the loan limit, the rate, the next project.

Before you join

Who can join
Anyone aged 16 to 25 who lives, studies or works in the city. You need a UK bank card and a photo ID.
What it costs
The £1 share, once. No monthly fee, no fee to take money out, no fee to leave.
When you turn 26
Your pot stays yours. You can keep saving with our parent credit union or take everything out; you choose.
Is it safe
Savings in the club are protected in the same way as savings in a bank, up to the same limit.

The loan rule we never bend: we only lend what the repayments say you can afford, even if you ask for more. A small loan should never become a big problem.
