Eleven at the moment. Six have been there since the
first week and the other five change when something stops selling, which we would rather
admit than keep pouring.
Washing up
The one everybody starts with. Concentrated, so a little goes further than
the supermarket bottle you are used to, and unscented by default.
Per 100 ml38p
A full litre£3.80
Scented, lemon+6p per 100 ml
Shampoo and conditioner
Two drums, made forty miles away, and the only two things here with a
scent you cannot turn off. Bring two bottles or you will end up with a mixture.
Per 100 ml62p
A full litre£6.20
Sample, 50 mlfree, once
Hand soap
Three drums: plain, oat, and the rosemary one that sells four times as
fast as the other two put together and we do not know why.
Per 100 ml44p
A full litre£4.40
Pump bottle, secondhand£1
Laundry
Liquid, in the biggest drum on the rack. A litre does about thirty washes
here, which is half what the bottle it replaces claims and roughly what it actually did.
Per 100 ml34p
A full litre£3.40
Five litres£15.00
Surface cleaner
One drum, dilutes ten to one, and the spray bottle to put it in is behind
the counter for a pound. Most people never buy a second one.
Per 100 ml29p
A full litre£2.90
Spray bottle£1, refilled free
The solid shelf
Not a drum at all: soap, shampoo bars and dish blocks, sold loose by
weight from a basket. No bottle needed and no scales either — they go in a paper bag.
Soap, per 100 g£1.90
Shampoo bar£4.50
Dish block£3.20
