Bookkeeping, VAT and the year-end for firms with fewer than ten people, at one monthly price that does not move

No hourly rate, no charge for ringing up, and no bill in March that nobody expected. Four of us, ninety-odd firms on the books, and a cap on how many we take.

What happens when

Every month
You send the receipts however you like — photographs are fine. We do the books and send you one page that says what came in, what went out and what is owed.
Every quarter
VAT, filed on time, with the amount and the date on the same email. You will never hear about it first from HMRC.
Two months after year-end
Accounts drafted and sent to you with the three things worth looking at marked. Nothing is filed until you have said yes.
January
Personal returns, done in November and December so that January is quiet. If yours is still open on the 20th we will have rung you four times.

Before you move to us

Changing accountant
We write to the old one, they send the file, and it takes about three weeks. You do not have to have the conversation and you do not have to give a reason.
Mid-year
Fine, and common. We pick up from the last filed set and charge from the month we start, not from the start of your year.
If the books are a mess
They usually are. Catching up costs a one-off fee we quote before we start, and it has never yet been more than three months of the monthly price.
Software
Included, and it is your account, not ours. If you leave, it goes with you and we do not hold the data hostage.
How many we take
Ninety-five firms, and we are at ninety-one. When it is full we will say so rather than take you and answer slowly.
What we will not do
Anything aggressive with tax. If you are looking for a scheme, we are the wrong office and we will say so in the first meeting.
