Latchkey
A teal wooden front door standing half open onto a garden, its old iron handle catching the light.

Sixty homes, two people, one part of town, and every fee on this page

Latchkey lets and looks after flats and houses within a mile of our office, for landlords who live nearby and tenants who would like to be treated like neighbours. Deposits go back within ten days. We answer the phone.

See what is to let
A living room with a deep teal wall, a tan leather sofa, framed prints and tall plants. A ginger dog asleep on a round mat in front of a white door.

Most of our homes are in the old terraces between the park and the canal. We have been in and out of every one of them.

Pets are allowed in two thirds of them. Ask; the answer is usually yes.

Moving out, until your deposit is back

Last day

Keys to the office, or through the letterbox in the envelope we give you. Take a photograph of every room first.

Day 1

We do the check-out with the inventory from the day you moved in, and send you both.

Day 3

Anything we think should come off the deposit, in writing, with photographs and a price for each.

Day 7

You agree or you don't. If you don't, the deposit scheme decides, not us and not the landlord.

Day 10

The rest is in your account. In the past year the average deduction was nothing at all.

A cream tile with the number 45 painted in blue, set into an old brick wall. A dark green front door with a steel handle beside a white wall. An enamel house number 164 on an ochre wall.

Before you rent with us

Viewings
Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings, always with one of us, never with the tenant still living there in their dressing gown.
What we check
That you can afford it and that you are who you say. We don't need your life story or a guarantor for every tenancy.
Repairs
Ring the office. Urgent things the same day, everything else within five working days, and we tell you which it is.
Leaving early
Two months' notice after the first six. If you find someone to take over, we charge nothing to swap.
