How a wall gets made

A painter sitting on a stool at an easel on the pavement, sketching in front of a painted wall. 01 · WEEK ONE

We sit on the pavement and draw. People stop and tell us what the street needs.

A black and white photograph of a man painting a large white shape on a wall. 02 · THE OUTLINE

Chalked and painted in one day, so everyone can see it before the colour goes on.

A painter on a ladder filling in a large purple and white shape on a brick wall. 03 · THE COLOUR

Masonry paint, by brush and roller. Four to ten days depending on the wall.

A painter in a wide sun hat adding fine detail to a mural with a small brush. 04 · THE DETAIL

The last day is small brushes, the names of anyone who helped, and a clear coat.

Before we paint your wall

Permission

The owner's, in writing, and the council's if the building is listed or on a conservation street. We help with both.

The weather window

April to October, dry days above eight degrees. We book two weeks and use the dry ones.

The wall itself

We check it first. Crumbling render gets fixed before we paint, or we say no.

In ten years

We come back for free once, to touch up anything that faded or got tagged.
