Everything here was standing in a field ten days ago at the most

We do not fly anything in

Which is a nice thing to say in June and an awkward one in November. Three growers inside forty kilometres and whatever the market has that morning. If you want something that is not in season we will tell you honestly that we cannot get it, rather than order it from the other side of the world and charge you for the flight.

“I asked for peonies in October and got a short lecture and something better. I have stopped asking and started saying what the room looks like.”

What is actually standing there

Photographed on the Monday. When a bucket empties we do not restock it with something flown in; it stays empty until the next cut.

Before you order

Four things that decide whether we are the right shop for you. None of them are on the order form, so they are here instead.

November is thin
Late autumn is branches, berries, dried work and forced bulbs. If you need a specific flower on a specific winter date, a shop that imports will serve you better than we will, and we will say so.
If yours is not there
We substitute by shape and colour, not by name, and we send a photograph before it leaves. If you would rather cancel than accept a substitute, say so when you order and we will hold the money instead.
Nothing dyed
No dyed stems, no glitter, no painted branches. Partly taste, mostly that the dye goes into the water and then into the bin. It is the one request we turn down every week.
Funerals
Same day where we can, and we will not upsell you on the worst day of your year. There is a fixed list of three prices and the middle one is what most people choose.

Bos

Open Wednesday to Saturday, and Monday morning when the market has been good. Closed the whole of January.

A photograph of the buckets, every Monday. Nothing else, and you can leave from any message.

Bos is a fictional example. The growers, the prices and the opening times do not exist. Photographs are stock images and do not show this shop.
