Chef · cook · the person in your kitchen who does not need to be told where the pans are · three menus, one evening, and you never touch a sponge

Dinner for twelve without leaving the table

I bring the food, the pans and the plates. You bring the people.

How an evening goes

I arrive two hours before you sit down and leave an hour after the last plate. In between you will hear me more than you see me.

17:00

I arrive

With the van, everything prepped that can be prepped, and my own knives.

19:00

First plates

A small thing while people are still standing, then the table.

20:30

The main

Served at the table from the pan, family style, seconds for anyone who asks.

A spoon of dark red sauce being added to a dessert in a stone bowl.

22:30

I leave

Kitchen wiped, bins out, leftovers labelled in your fridge.

Before I come

Your kitchen needs
An oven, four rings and one clear shelf in the fridge. That is all. I have cooked in a narrowboat; I can cook in your kitchen.
I bring
All food, all pans, knives, boards, serving plates, and dinner plates for up to twelve if yours do not match. You provide the table and the drink.
Numbers and allergies
Final numbers a week before. Allergies at booking, in writing — I plan the whole menu around them, not just the plate.
The leftovers
Yours, in labelled tubs, with what they are and when to eat them by.

At Yours is a fictional example. Tamsin Ode, the menus, the prices and the guests do not exist, and nothing here is food-safety or allergy advice. Photographs are stock images and were not taken at any of these dinners.
